Yes, yes! We have an artist! A little one at that!
If you come by our house, you will see a lot of art displays and our home is like an exhibit of doodles, drawings, and abstract painting solely done by our five-year-old! Right now (she changes these display every now and then), our fridge has these drawings stuck in there by our very own artist:
And yes, every drawing has a story behind it. The one on the middle upper part is a picture of a boat in an ocean that was slashed off with words on top that says “No boat for us!” The story behind it is that Triz has been asking me when we can go on a cruise or just simply board on a boat. I told her there is no cruise that will happen for us soon, but if we can go home to Philippines, we can definitely board on a boat because we plan to go to Cebu from CDO on our next Philippine trip. I told her a cruise doesn’t sound so good for us, money-wise, since it is very expensive. That she has to grow big first and work and that’s when she can treat her family to one. Well, when the La Concordia cruise ship sank in Italy a couple weeks ago, we watched it from the news together and I told her how dangerous cruising is when the ship capsizes. That evening, she said she was sad for what happened to the ship and drew this one for us. 😀
That colorful one is a sunset which she made for Mamang. She knew Mamang loves the sunset so she made me one. I can tell every story behind those drawings that she got, but I’d rather not. It takes time. I wish you can ask her directly. She conveys every bit of emotion she has when she does. 😀
